Work/Church Attire

Ever looking for some inspo for a special meeting at the office, or just the usual Sunday service?
I got you covered. Go outside your comfort zone sometimes and wear white! I never did, but seeing how good it looks on, there's no going back. Or any color you wear, make sure to compliment it with patterns or a hint of another color. For example, I wore a marble blouse with my white just for an extra "pop". And an example for the hint of color; wearing a pink dress and complimenting that dress with yellow shoes, and jewelry. This type of outfit helps to set an approachable and friendly look on you. I hope you like the look! ( When Church Siblings Ruin Your Best Photos!!!!)

Bringing Back the 70's for Fall

The 80's, the 90's, and now, the 70's. I never thought this beloved decade would make the fashion world again, well I thought wrong! From flared sleeves to Fringed booties, this fall will be all about the disco era. The honorable era of clothing is an enjoyable one because of its free, colorful, and positive design, and its possible that what you wear can determine your mood! So, be happy and prosper!

The Talk about Denim

Yooooo!!! I don't understand why rugged, ripped apart boyfriend jeans and simple mom jeans that I could find in my mom's closet are so expensive!! For my little trip on the weekend of August 7, I had the opportunity to go to a mall that had a lot of stores with selections I wouldn't find near me. Simple H & M had every thing from every season, which my nearest H & M could never be compared to. The mom jeans I have been crying for were right there! Two years and the perfect everyday fit were right, there. I didn't believe it at first, but I went towards the pair and checked the price. I mean they were the cheapest pair but... really ? Only if my mom was my size, I would've copped her own man, I'm telling you. But, I ended up buying those lovely, comfortable jeans and I will be styling this new staple often.

Is it my Place to Talk ?

One thing has been on my mind lately. I'm tired of people falling into traps. What do I mean by traps you may ask? The traps of life. Not to be a "downer", but this life is so short and passes so quickly, why waste it on immoralities and sorrow and guilt?? Like, everyone is so strongly focused on short pleasured, vain things that don't add to life, but instead take from it. Like, we waste so much time on short-lived pleasures, SO MUCH TIME. That time could have been used to better ourselves internally, externally, and if you're anywhere close to humane, to benefit someone else. We are so filled up in or own personal wants, and how we feel nowadays, that we forget to help our fellow people. Like there is so much we can do, and we waste it on the vain things and we glorify those things with passion. It has been this way for ages, but it's like now, it has gotten to the point where almost everyone thinks its okay. It's good to love yourself and care for YOU, but why be so selfish, why aren't we making differences that affect us and others altogether positively. We like to put people down, the same people that are wearing the shoes we use to wear. We, including myself because I'm not perfect, allow our brothers and sister of the world to fall by what we do, and say we aren't hurting anybody just benefiting ourselves. We call ourselves GODS, "Gods" that will die as mortals in an instant, and we crush other people with our feet as if they don't have personal purpose; and destiny. The God  I know ALLOWS us to fulfill our divine destinies. If we look at it in a more realistic way, we are nothing, we are something, but.... we are nothing. When I say this, I'm referring to our outer shell. This flesh is not forever lasting, Believe it or NOT, we will die. And, don't get me wrong, enjoy your life to your best ability, BUT remember that you could die in a second; that no one is guaranteed life, it's only a privilege, so use it wisely. And, all of us have a purpose formed towards a common goal, to help make the kingdom larger. I know some people may not believe in this and some may say it doesn't make sense, but think about life. The fact that its's so short and so hard, don't you want to believe there's something better? Some of us have dreams that end up coming true in our lives, some see things come to pass days before they happen, doesn't that count for anything? This soul that sees, hears, thinks, acts with various emotions, why not believe it has a place to go to? We are able to do so much more, we can't just die for those privileges of life to be over, no, it's just not possible. So, why not just live right ?

P.S., In no way am I perfect, I have mistakes I have made, and in no way am I yet holy, but I strive to be, and I strive to make differences not only beneficial for myself, but for all.

Wedding Weekend, Aug. 9, 2015

Church: I had the opportunity to go to my old church and see a couple old faces, eat a good bagel, and drink some tea. The service was nice and we talked about how every decision in our lives leads to our purpose regardless of how wrong we were or are, if we have faith in God and acknowledge our faults He will do the fixing for us in order for us to move forward. Once we left, I just had to snap a pic or two.

Wedding Day: After church, we went to all the way to the house we were staying at and packed our stuff in the back of the car because we knew the night was going to be longggg. From the house to the wedding, traffic was ridiculous as always! Before we got to the wedding, I thought I would be able to change from my comfortable jeans to my uncomfortable, TIGHTT, mermaid skirt, Which I wasn't able to. I had to rush to the Powder Room and get all pretty, and this was the result after.

Wedding Weekend, Aug. 8, 2015

We were planning on going to a barbecue this day, but our trip was cancelled due to unbelievable traffic, and we ended up using that day for a shopping opportunity (outfits soon to come). This look was meant to be a Bohemian summer look, but it ended up being more casual.

Wedding Weekend, Aug. 7, 2015

After terrible traffic and long naps, we finally made it to the traditional wedding. The traditional wedding consisted of Nigerian cuisine and the cultural way to wed off the bride and the groom. I wore tailored ankara to the ceremony.

July 9, 2015: 4th and Final Camp Look

Convention by this time is almost over and everyone is trying to soak up the experience while really connecting with God and one another. Throughout this last full day of camp, I wore a home-sewn dress my grandmother made me years ago that I dreaded, but now it has become one of my favorite pieces! ( Never throw away pieces you feel have potential, they may come to use in the future). This outfit was easily put together and wasn't uncomfortable for camp activities (I advise that when doing real rigorous camp activities such as rock climbing and hiking, where protective clothing and comfortable sneakers). Day 4:

P.S. ( Featuring my very good friend who has been an amazing support and looks so cute with her natural style!)

July 8, 2015: 3rd Camp Look

The third day of the convention was later on more of an activity day. But since early every morning we had group devotions, it could be very hard waking up. This look is a very basic, cozy outfit that was easy to put together while still looking girly. I added a statement necklace to give the look a bit of identity. Day 3:

July 7, 2015: 2nd camp look

This day was the first whole day of camp, everyone settled in and we were ready to start the day's schedule of activities. The night before, I barely had any rest because of the of all the new conversations I had. Waking up the next morning, because of my summer "sleep late-wake up late" routine, it was very hard for me to get up. This outfit was the "go-to" for me in the morning. It was summer appropriate but cozy, and because we were in a rain-prone environment, that often reduced the surrounding's temperature. So I brought a sweater hoodie along with me. Day 2:

Comfort, ease, and layers.

Day 1, July 6, 2015: First Camp look

Camp is a place of freedom, a place to learn more about yourself and how you take control in certain situations, and it's also a place where you relate to people you wouldn't really relate to on any usual day. The camp convention I have been going to for the past 4 years was created by RCCG Living Springs, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This church leaves the inner city to camp locations out of state to help teenagers grow their own spiritual relationship with God and also builds a variety of network systems with so many people. This year, I was planning on not going, and this was me filled with pride and lacking in my relationship with God. But somehow, God found his way in convincing me to go. Day 1 Look:

A very simple, cozy, but fun outfit for the first day.
